Goal Zero Flip 36 Review (2026)

Rubberized, drop-tested on granite, 10,050mAh -- the power bank for hikers who go hard on their gear

★★★★★
8.7/10
Reviewed by William • Updated May 2026 $50

The Goal Zero Flip 36 is the power bank for hikers who have dropped and broken power banks before. The rubberized casing absorbed drops that would crack plastic or dent aluminum -- it survived waist-height drops onto granite in our testing without damage. At 6.7oz for 10,050mAh with USB-C charging it is a reasonable backpacking weight. Compatible with Goal Zero Nomad solar panels for off-grid recharging.

Field Notes

Dropped twice on rocky AT terrain in two seasons -- from a hip pack and from a tent vestibule onto granite. Zero damage. The rubberized grip also prevents power banks sliding off slick picnic tables. Paired with Goal Zero Nomad 10 solar panel: fully charged the Flip 36 in about 3 hours of direct sun.
