The X-Brew is the practical middle ground between the featherweight Java Drip and a rigid ceramic cone. The silicone body collapses to 0.6in tall, the stainless mesh filter is built in so there is nothing to run out of, and the rigid rim sits stably on most mugs and pots without the wobble that plagues wire-frame cones. At 2.9oz it is heavier than the Java Drip and dramatically more stable in use. Cup quality is a step above mesh-on-wire because the cone geometry regulates drawdown more evenly.

What Sets It Apart

Stability is the differentiator nobody advertises. A wire-frame cone on a camp mug on uneven ground tips, and losing a pour halfway through is a genuinely bad start to a morning.
