The Mini II is the standard packable hand grinder and the reason is geometry as much as performance: it nests inside an AeroPress chamber, so the two together take up barely more space than the AeroPress alone. Ceramic conical burrs produce a consistent grind across drip and press ranges, and the stepless adjustment is simple enough to set by feel. Grinding a full dose takes about 45 seconds of steady cranking, which is real effort at 6am but is also the single largest upgrade to camp cup quality available.

What Sets It Apart

Grinding at camp is the largest single improvement available to camp coffee, larger than upgrading the brewer. Ground coffee loses most of its aromatics within about half an hour, so the beans you ground at home on Thursday are noticeably flat by Saturday morning.
