The Static V2 is the entry point to air pads and it does the fundamentals correctly. V-shaped chambers restrict air moving from under your hips to under your shoulders as you shift, which is the main annoyance of cheap tubular pads. At 16oz and $60 it undercuts everything comparable. The limitation is warmth: with an R-value of 1.3 it is a summer pad, and using it below about 50°F means losing significant heat to the ground.
