The Kansbol's blade is tapered along its length: thick and strong near the handle for carving and prying, thin toward the tip for slicing food. That solves the usual Scandi compromise where a knife great at wood is clumsy with an onion. At 4.3oz it is the lightest capable fixed blade here, the 12C27 stainless resists rust without any care, and it costs $45. It is a partial tang, so batoning is not recommended, and the plastic sheath is functional rather than nice.
